Meet Your Book Coach

I’m Charlotte Chipperfield, founder of Her Narrative, where I guide women and underrepresented authors to develop their writing skills and use storytelling as a powerful tool for self-expression and empowerment. I believe stories can challenge perceptions, build empathy, and foster community. By lifting voices that have historically been overlooked or marginalized, we enrich our collective narrative—a mission that’s at the heart of my coaching and editing work.

As a certified developmental editor and book coach, I work with both first-time authors and seasoned entrepreneurs, helping refine manuscripts and guiding writers from concept to completion. My coaching supports those navigating life changes, offering accountability and clarity for writers aiming to finish their manuscripts and create stories that resonate. I’ve shared writing insights as a speaker for Literary Arts Portland, the American Family Insurance Dream Bank, and the Women's Fiction Writers Association, and have served as a judge for notable literary awards.

  • Email Book Coaching is perfect for writers at any stage of the book-writing process who value flexibility yet seek accountability. Whether you're writing fiction or non—fiction, brainstorming ideas, drafting your manuscript, or polishing your work, this service provides personalized support to keep you on track.

  • These coaching sessions are not for manuscript reviews, spelling, or grammar edits. I do offer separate Developmental Editing services. These coaching sessions are for guiding you towards creative success and discussion around writing techniques can be a part of the coaching process. If a portion of your work needs to be shared for context that is OK. Please keep it to 500 words or less.

  • After signing up, you’ll receive a welcome email with instructions on how to get started. This email will include how approach your email check-ins with questions, updates, or challenges you’re facing with your writing. I’ll respond with tailored feedback, suggestions, and next steps to help you move forward within 48 hours.

  • You can email up to three times per month. This allows me to provide thorough, high-quality feedback while giving you time to reflect and act on suggestions.

  • You can extend your coaching for up to three months in total. Simply sign up for additional months when you're ready to continue.

  • Voice notes are exchanged through the Voxer app, a free and easy-to-use platform for voice messaging. You'll have the option to send voice memos and receive up to 10 minutes of personalized audio feedback or encouragement each month. This is optional and if you’d prefer to stick to email, that is perfectly OK.

  • Refunds are not available for this service. However, you will not automatically be renewed for the following month. It is recommended to maximize the value of coaching by actively engaging, asking questions, and applying the feedback provided.

  • Email coaching offers a flexible, self-paced alternative to live coaching calls. You have the freedom to process feedback and implement changes on your schedule without needing to coordinate specific call times.
